“Our family had a lovely photo shoot with Simon at Loweswater. A really lovely guy who made the shoot fun for the kids and the photos are fabulous. Would highly recommend Simon to all my friends.”
Lake District family photography
I love family photography in all its forms, whether formal or informal, outdoors or indoors, at your home, in the studio or on location - the choice is yours! Whether it's a photoshoot for your family on location in the Lake District, a photoshoot to mark a special milestone for your or your children or a lifestyle shoot at home to capture a day in your family's life, I'd love to work with you to capture pictures that will be treasured for generations to come!
As families grow over time, it can become increasingly rare that you get your whole family in the same place at the same time - so make the most of it when you do with a family photoshoot as part of your time together. Anniversary parties, significant birthdays, christenings or naming ceremonies and other special family occasions create an opportunity to capture some magical moments for everyone involved to remember their time together.
Photographing children is always rewarding, whatever their age and character! You can have a children's photoshoot in the studio - for that clean studio look - or at your home for some lifestyle pictures of your child in their own environment. And, of course, here in the Lake District, there are many beautiful outdoor locations to choose from too!
A portrait party is another way to go for you and some of your friends, where you get to enjoy some adult company either at home or at a venue nearby, while I take the children's portraits! As the host, there's no charge for you and I offer a discount for your friends compared with an individual photoshoot.
The best time for your maternity photoshoot is usually between 30 to 36 weeks, when your bump is a beautiful, rounded shape and before you might be too uncomfortable to enjoy your photoshoot to its fullest!
So called 'lifestyle' photos taken at your home or outside on location can be a great way to capture life as it is at this amazing time with the minimum of posing and direction. Alternatively, studio photos will allow you to show off your bump, give more control over the finished images and focus the attention on the beauty of your shape at this special time.
Of course, you can have some fantastic images taken of your baby at anytime, but around 6-12 days old is the very best time to get those lovely sleepy newborn photos - beyond 12 days babies may not be so easy to get into a deep sleep and may start to get colicky.
Rather than having to come into the studio, an increasingly popular place to have a newborn photoshoot is at home, where you and your baby will be most comfortable and you don’t have to pack everything up to head off to the studio.
