Frequently asked questions and answers
What's included in my wedding package?
All my wedding packages include:
- pre-wedding briefing with you in person or on the phone
- my time as agreed on your wedding day
- post production editing and uploading of your images to an online gallery
- a complete set of full resolution images (best quality) without watermarks
Packages of 4 hours or more also include a complimentary mini portrait session at your pre-wedding consultation.
When will I receive my pictures?
Your pictures will normally be ready within 2 weeks of when they are taken. I will let you know in advance if they might take a little longer at certain times of year. If you need one or two images more quickly for any reason, just let me know and I'll be happy to pick out a couple of images and get them to you earlier.
How will you deliver my pictures?
When your pictures are ready, I'll email you a link to a password-protected online gallery for you to view and download your photographs. Once in your gallery, you can also favourite photos and share individual photos or your whole gallery with family and friends. In addition, you can order prints and other products directly from the gallery should you wish to. I can deliver your images on a USB drive as well, for a small addition charge, if you prefer.
Do you offer wedding albums?
Certainly! I offer full colour, professionally printed, hardback photo book albums in two sizes - standard (10 x 8 inches) and large (13 x 11 inches) - with discounts available when booked as part of your package. Standard size photo book albums make great gifts for family and friends, while the large photo book albums will show off your wedding photos at their best. Please get in touch to find out more about options and prices for photo book albums.
Do you offer video as well as photography?
Yes, I can make a short 'highlights' video of your wedding day created from video clips taken alongside your photographs. You can find out more about my video services and see example highlights videos on my Videos page.
Will my photos have watermarks?
Absolutely not! Any images you buy or which are included in your package can be downloaded at full resolution (best quality) without watermarks, directly from your online gallery.
How do I make a booking for my wedding?
As soon as you decide you're ready to make a booking, just get in touch and I'll send you an invoice and details of how to pay a 25% deposit to secure the date. The balance on your account must be paid in full before the day of your wedding - but don't worry, I'll send you a reminder a couple of weeks beforehand if you haven't already paid the balance.
Have you shot at my chosen venue before?
I've shot at many different Lake District wedding venues, so there's a good chance I've shot at yours. However, if I haven't shot at your venue recently or before, don't worry, I'll carry out a full site visit ahead of the day of your wedding, talk with the staff at your venue, carry out extensive online research and hopefully meet with you at the venue too. There's no additional charge for the extra work - it's on me!
How do I download images from my gallery?
You can download any images you buy (as well as any that are included in your package) directly from your gallery, either singly, by section or all together. Read my blog post "Downloading and Storing Your Photos" to find out more. The article also describes best practices for storing your photos for the longer term, so you and your family can enjoy them for years to come.
Who owns the copyright for my photos?
As is usual, the copyright to all the images I take remains with me as the creator. I retain the right to use the images taken for the purposes of promoting and advertising my work, including on my website and on social media platforms. However, I grant you a perpetual royalty-free licence to use the images you buy for any non-commercial use, including but not limited to printing, copying, emailing, and publishing. This licence does not include use that results in financial gain.
Do you edit every photo?
Yes, every photo delivered will be checked and corrected for composition, exposure, colour temperature, sharpness and dynamic range. In addition, I check and make additional edits as required to remove any distracting elements in images that detract from the main subject. As a general rule, I don’t remove freckles, moles or birthmarks etc. unless you specifically ask me to. I may, however, slightly reduce wrinkles, spots and other minor skin imperfections unless you ask me not to.
