The beautiful landscape in the Lake District is the reason so many couples come from all over the UK and beyond to get married here, so it's not surprising that 'environmental' portraits are an integral part of most Lake District weddings, large and small, whatever the time of year and whatever the weather! So-called environmental portraits are simply portraits that include the location as an integral part of the composition - or if you prefer, they are landscape pictures which include the wedding couple as part of the composition! Either way, they're amazing fun to create, while giving you and your partner a few precious minutes to yourselves on your special day!

With a love of walking and having lived in the Lake District for nearly 20 years, I know many beautiful spots for environmental portraits around the Lake District, so you can either choose one I already know near to your wedding venue or I can check out a location that has special meaning for you and your partner if you'd prefer that.

Here's a small selection of environmental wedding portraits taken at a variety of beautiful locations around the Lake District at different times of year.
